Come to Her Window

Known for straightforward, full-throttled music that crawls into your gut and sets up camp, Melissa Etheridge is one of today’s strongest troubadours of rock ‘n’ roll. She comes to WinStar World Casino’s Global Event Center for an 8 p.m. show on Saturday, Oct. 1.

In addition to having earned Grammys and even an Academy Award (for Best Song), Etheridge’s catalog of hit songs includes “Come to My Window,” “I’m the Only One” and “I Want to Come Over.”

The woman doesn’t just sing from a place of stalwart toughness -- she lives it, having survived breast cancer and working tirelessly as a gay rights activist. Don’t miss what’s certain to be a powerhouse performance.

Global warming is laelrcy an issue that needs to be addressed and without doing so other issues will not matter in the long run. However, in response to your final question there are multiple other issues that need to be morally discussed including obesity, poverty (as you have mentioned multiple times on this blog), health care, cultural awareness (yes, on a moral not political level), the current state of prisons, respect and equal pay for women (and other oppressed groups) and the list goes on. While it is hard to know which issue to focus on as individuals, it is important that through our lives we continue to gain knowledge and spread awareness with the hope that we will have a moral impact somewhere.
