Talk about nerve. Here we are in November, the cusp of cold and flu season, and WinStar World Casino is willing to risk exposing people to the Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu. Tsk, tsk.
Symptoms include a quickening pulse, swaying head, shaking hips and overall feeling of euphoria. The malady is also occasionally marked by an intense desire to shout along to lyrics or play air guitar.
Be advised, then, that the legendary Johnny Rivers hits the stage Wednesday at WinStar World Casino for a 3 p.m. concert.
Rivers has long been a mainstay of classic rock ‘n’ roll, responsible for such gems as “Secret Agent Man,” “Seventh Son,” “Poor Side of Town” and the aforementioned “Rockin’ Pneumonia an the Boogie Woogie Flu.” It’s no wonder, then, that the hardworking Rivers has sold more than 30 million records in a career spanning six decades.
Just be forewarned, though, that the Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu are highly contagious and difficult to shake. You might just end up too cool for school.
